Video series: Conversation with Alice
A series of video interviews produced by Nicola Ricciardi and Mazen with the support of Berlin’s Node Center for Curatorial Studies featuring artists Mario Asef, Tinka Bechert, Felix & Mumford, Riccardo Previdi, Nuno Vicente.
Scope of the project is to investigate and stimulate a debate on today’s meaning of site-specific art and public interventions, and of the role of the artist and of the curator in dealing with specific spaces. For this purpose, curatora Carolina Jimenez and Nicola Ricciardi have run a series of video interviews/ conversations with selected artists to hear from them how they could imagine a site-specific exhibition in (or with) a particular space: a small, portable greenhouse, named Alice.
The video shows how artists responded to such assignment, their different approaches to and researches on space – and underlines how a conversation about public art could also tell a lot about the relationship between artists and curators. A first version of the final video, directed and edited by Alessandro Pinferetti and Mattia Dal Bello, has been presented and screened in May 2012 at Altes Finanzamt, Berlin.
